What are my three options?
Insurance copay ($25) — you pay only your after-hours copay tonight; we bill your insurance for the rest.
Private pay ($50) — flat fee, no insurance involved. Best if you're out of network or prefer not to file a claim.
Video message ($25) — record a short 2-minute clip instead of a live call. Dr. Rafiq reviews it and responds when he's next available.
How does billing work?
Payment is collected up front through Stripe. You'll get an emailed receipt right after checkout.
If the doctor doesn't connect within 15 minutes, your payment is refunded automatically — no action needed on your part.
Insurance-copay charges reflect only your patient responsibility for an after-hours visit; the remainder is submitted to your carrier.
What happens during the phone call?
After payment, your phone rings from our after-hours line. You'll hear a brief "connecting" message, then Dr. Rafiq comes on the line.
Calls are capped at about 15 minutes and are recorded for your medical record. If we can't reach you, we'll try once more before refunding.
We can't refill prescriptions or schedule appointments on this line — call the front desk at (631) 440-1010 during business hours for that.
What happens with a video message?
You'll record up to 2 minutes describing what's going on. The clip uploads securely and is transcribed into a clinical note for Dr. Rafiq to review.
He responds when he's next on call — usually the same evening. Video is a good fit when you'd rather leave a detailed message than wait for a live call.

Automatic refundFull refund if we don't connect within 15 minutes
If Dr. Rafiq doesn't connect within 15 minutes of your payment, your card is refunded in full — automatically, no request needed. You'll get an emailed refund receipt.
Video messagesRefunded if not reviewed within ~12 hours
If the clip isn't reviewed and replied to by the end of the next on-call window (typically within 12 hours), the charge is refunded automatically.
Requesting a refundWithin 7 days · posts to your card in 5–10 business days
If you believe you were charged in error — duplicate charge, dropped call, or connection issue on our end — use the refund form below or email contact@psychvisit.today within 7 days. Refunds are issued to the original card and typically post in 5–10 business days.
What isn't refundableCompleted calls, missed after answer, refill/scheduling requests
Completed calls, calls you missed after Dr. Rafiq answered, and requests for prescription refills or scheduling (not offered on this line) aren't refundable.
Request a refund
Charged in error, duplicate charge, or a connection issue on our end? Enter the Stripe payment id from your emailed receipt (it starts with pi_ or cs_) and we'll refund the original card. Requests must be made within 7 days of payment.
